new year hope

happy new year, everybody!

2017, man.. what a year. it had some good times, no doubt about it, but i dunno about y’all.. it really flipped us off on its way out. i for one am glad to let 2017 and everything that came with it, be behind me.

i am.. cautiously optimistic about 2018. i’m hopeful. i feel like you *have* to be hopeful, otherwise the tough times of the previous year just keep their hold on you into the next. and i want more than anything to have a fresh start, to have this year be better than the last, so i’m hopeful for now that the new year will bring good things to us.. all of us.

my girls && i are wishing everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous 2018. cheers to a new year and to new experiences, and be hopeful with us that 2018 will be better. ♥

first flurries

the holidays always make me nostalgic for second life. some of my best sl memories center around spending the holidays with my friends && family, exchanging gifts and exploring wintry sims and causing mayhem on sleds.. and taking lots and lots of pictures.

yeah, i’ve still been rattling around on the grid all this time.. just not blogging. to say that i’ve had a hard 2017, especially the latter half, is putting it extremely mild. this year has been rough in my real life and i just needed a break from the blogging world to focus offline instead. i can’t exactly say i’m back at it again like i was, but i do get li’l nostalgic pangs for sl around the holidays.. and even though it’s been tough, i couldn’t let 2017 end without, y’know, saying hi again and stuff.

hi! been a little bit, huh? what can i say.. stuff comes up, motivation goes down, life.. finds a way of getting *in* the way.

so i’m trying to play a li’l bit of catch up here today, showing off some things that i should have shown off already.. and the theme is rompers!

and we’re starting off with tee*fy! i love just about everything this brand makes, and azure does the combo of sexy ‘n’ cute so, so well. the plunging neckline and short shorts are perfect for warmer days, while the sweet floral print && belted waist give it juuuuust enough cute!

next up is paper arrow. i snagged this at the last round of the epiphany && i lucked out in getting this soft pink option. the satin texture for the fabric and the tie at the waist could make this romper something dressy *or* something super casual.

lastly, we have reign from the last round of collabor88. the pattern options in the fatpack for this romper were *so* perfect for a summertime kinda feel. bright hot pink + navy blue is my absolute favorite color combo and this romper with this tropical floral combined them perfectly~

it’s been a good minute since i took pics somewhere *other* than my sky platform. i think it’s just become wayyyy too easy to set up a scene in the sky, or use a backdrop prop (of which i now have a bajillion) that’s already done for me, and use that instead of gettin’ out there && exploring the grid.

so you know what i say to that? NOT TODAY!

me ‘n’ my three kittens actually teleported somewhere that wasn’t an event or sale and did some good, old fashioned sim hopping. i loved the scenery on this sim, with the pretty red rocks and river and greenery. it may not match my shiny-urban-camo look exactly, but that’s okay.. that’s just part of using someone else’s sim for picture taking. and honestly, it felt really nice to see something that wasn’t put together by my own derp decorating skills.. for that alone, it was totally worth it~

get ready with me

are you a fan of get ready with me videos on youtube? i sure am.. one of my favorites does these kinds of videos all the time (with guests that are very relevant to my interests) && i lovvveee watching them. i am no makeup guru, either in rl or in sl, but it makes me feel like i *am* getting ready with them..

so i figured i might do one myself, second life style!

it was the perfect excuse to use this glorious closet from reign‘s latest arcade gacha. i’m a big fan of scream queens && even did an ‘accidental’ chanel oberlin look a while back.. so when i saw this closet (along with the rest of the items in the gacha!), i about had a *fit*.

springtime colors

i dunno about you, but for me.. spring is definitely in the air. it may only be the end of february, but it’s been warm ‘n’ sunny outside my rl windows this week and i am *totally* feeling the change of seasons already!

so, naturally.. i decided to put together a few looks to show off today that are all spring inspired!

in this first look, i’m rockin’ some blueberry separates. i love being able to mix && match pieces in my wardrobe throughout the seasons, and i’ve worn these cake leggings several times now in posts. not only do they come in a thousand and one colors, but they’re just *so good* for more casual outfits. and when paired with this super cute cropped hoodie from luxe box this month, it’s comfy while still cute.. especially with these candydoll platforms!

secondly is something quintessential spring to me.. pastels! this tee*fy skirt that’s out @ n21 in this watercolor print just *screams* spring to me. and while i was playing around with this candydoll top, also @ n21, i realized that i could make it match the skirt exactly. it looks like they were made for each other, like they’re a full dress! some strappy reign sandals complete the look in full spring pastel splendor~

another thing that always makes me think spring is floral prints! candydoll always does such nice ones and i fell in love with the color combo on this skirt. beige, cream, light blue and a brighter hot pink.. it’s just lovely. so i paired it with another candydoll top, this time from rewind, in a matching blue ‘n’ white.. and grabbed for another pair of strappy reign sandals from n21, with a thick glass heel that adds just an extra layer of sexy!
