a little warmer

in my rl neck of the woods, the last few days have been gorgeous. lots of sunshine and unseasonable warmth.. which was a welcome teaser for spring. seems fitting enough, considering today is groundhog day.. and good ole phil didn’t see his shadow.

so i dressed in sl to fit the teeny peek of warmer weather outside my rl window, today.

this skirt from blueberry was perfect for that. sexy ‘n’ short, with a whole bunch of options.. in plaids and solids, with or without the extra straps. and i paired it with a new top from addams, also in plaid, with an applier top from sn@tch underneath.. just in case i get chilly~

don’t get me wrong, i am still a winter-time kinda girl.. but i have to say, i’m kind of excited for a little bit of warmth outside, too. of course, i’m saying this now.. when in reality, the next time it snows in my rl i’ll be like a little kid in a candy shop!

so yeah, i know it’s not friday anymore.. it’s sunday, i realize. but, the *black friday* stuffs in sl has been sooo good this year that most of it has lasted all weekend!

i hit up some of my fave stores — like foxes, for instance, where i snagged both this adorable foxy backpack && my *very* appropriate shirt with fuck yeah friday on black — and grabbed some awesome deals! if you’re fast, you can still take advantage of some good ones before the weekend ends!

this weekend has also been awesome for starting my sl-mas shopping, where i’ve picked up some *half off* giftcards for all the good li’l boys ‘n’ girls on my nice list. the naughty ones get their presents in person, if ya know what i mean….

some days, i am very particular about colors.. i want them to match and be perfect, with a very clear color scheme goin’ on.

and then there are other days, like today, where i just start throwing stuff together and hope it works, no matter the colors!

thankfully… at least, imho.. it works sometimes!

i built this outfit around this *adorable* new sweater i snagged from vincue, in a color called cherry but looks very coral to me. not only did i love this color, but all the li’l details are just so cute.. the ruffly collar, the bow accent, the extra long sleeves.. and the back has a nice lacey piece across the shoulders that i derp’d and forgot to photograph. but super cute all the same!

then it was off to blueberry for something to wear with my top.. and these new harlow skirts are *so* sexy! nice and short, with a high thigh slit, and an optional studded belt that made these skirts really stand out~

after that, it was accessory time.. a necklace from maxi gossamer, an infinitely color-change mutresse purse from collabor88, some thigh high sn@tch socks, with a pair of reign ankle booties && a cute side-swept hair from little bones.

So this past weekend myself & my two best friends Vixxie & Vivi played the new game from madpea called the collection!  Needless to say we all had a blast & received a bunch of awesome prizes upon completion..

One of the prizes was this pose from Glamrus, and it is quite adorable if I do say so myself.  Vixxie took a picture using the pose & you can see it here, where she also challenges us to do the same.  So.. here is my take on the pose!!

so i spent the day riding death-defying roller coasters, wasting *tons* of money on carnival games && eating as much greasy food as i possibly could in one sitting…

amusement parks are like a rite of passage every summer. it just doesn’t feel right if i haven’t spent at least one day at the park! and today must’ve been a nod to the last day of shark week ’cause all the games had shark themed prizes.. as seen by my hat (by atomic @ seasons story) && my massive shark plushie (also @ seasons story, from silent sparrow).

i still haven’t had my fill of cotton candy, french fries, candy apples && funnel cake.. so off i go back into the park. but i couldn’t resist taking a couple selfies outside to commemorate my *two* game wins! can’t nobody chuck a baseball at bowling pins like vixxie can!! 😀

have i mentioned that i have the best partner in all of sl? maybe i have, but i feel like i should mention it again! as an anniversary present to me, allarik bought me a couple things from the summerfest event.. including the maitreya swimsuit && coverup combo there.

the bathing suit is so cute and fits like a glove, but the kimono jacket cover up was what i was most excited about. sure, the duo looks really nice together.. however, the jacket works for more than just as a swimsuit coverup!

to me, it looked like the perfect little summery jacket.. and the look i ended up with is so very boho!

i paired it with a fringe-tastic top from sn@tch && a pair of really nice jeans from coco that are on offer @ creation.jp, with an older oversized bag from auxiliary, a pair of *gacha* n-core heels, a coming soon tattoo from speakeasy && a ridiculously adorable curled ‘n’ pulled-back hair from truth.

i’m feeling breezy and cute today, all boho’d out. and i *love it* when pieces like this kimono coverup are mixable-and-matchable!
