new year hope

happy new year, everybody!

2017, man.. what a year. it had some good times, no doubt about it, but i dunno about y’all.. it really flipped us off on its way out. i for one am glad to let 2017 and everything that came with it, be behind me.

i am.. cautiously optimistic about 2018. i’m hopeful. i feel like you *have* to be hopeful, otherwise the tough times of the previous year just keep their hold on you into the next. and i want more than anything to have a fresh start, to have this year be better than the last, so i’m hopeful for now that the new year will bring good things to us.. all of us.

i’m ready

i know it’s not even thanksgiving yet, and i’m excited for that, buuuu~uuut… i am *so* ready for christmas, it’s not even funny.

i am the type of person that eagerly, anxiously awaits christmas like a little kid. like on december 26th, i’m already ready for christmas again. i love the atmosphere, the weather, the music, the food, the decorations, the feeling.. of being with family and friends, of being all warm and snug inside while snow falls outside. i enjoy other holidays, but none like christmas.. and i am so excited for it this year that i could burst!

so even though it’s not quite yet thanksgiving, i am ready for all things holiday! maybe it’s early, but sometimes i just can’t control my excitement~

autumn look book

fall is officially here! rejoice rejoice~ the time for dark, rich colors and cooler weather, for apple cider and pumpkin spice, for layering with boots and scarves and tights and all that fun stuff!

since i’ve been a little absent this month (eh heh) i decided to put together four looks for you that, to me, just *scream* autumn!

and let’s start off with shades of brown…

tan ‘n’ brown can sometimes be boring if it’s too much, but not wearing it all over and mixing in some other shades works well to keep it from being too samey. tall boots, like these ones from reign, go *perfectly* with this shorter tee*fy dress (that’s out @ n21) and when topped off with a coppery sweater by foxes it not only is in a warmer, fall-appropriate palette.. but it looks super cute, too!

since the leaves are all starting to turn gold, i thought a deeper, darker yellow color might be nice for fall, too. yellow isn’t a color i wear often, but when matched with a pair of nice, neutral blueberry jeans (that are part of this month’s luxe box) && some nude colored reign pumps.. it’s not at all overwhelming or harsh.

rich garnet red is a color that is, in my opinion, the epitome of fall. it not only reminds me of the leaves changing colors, but of apples and cinnamon too. and you can *totally* get away with wearing shorts, like these from blueberry, in the autumn by layering ’em up with tights (from atomic @ c88) and some super cute flats (by reign, also @ c88). having longer sleeves, like this sweater from tres blah (which is part of this month’s luxe box) and even topping it off with a cute infinity scarf like this one from erratic will keep you warm even with bare legs!

and lastly, wearing grey ‘n’ black is appropriate for fall too.. like with this long emery top i grabbed @ uber, and black suede pants from ison from luxe box this month.. but it doesn’t need to be drab if you add in a few extra accents of color. it’s like that old cliche, matching your shoes to your bag, and i decided to wear these reign pumps && this c’est la vie purse both in brighter red to break up the darkness of the rest of my outfit. and i think it looks casual and put together without being dreary.. like the weather can sometimes be in autumn!

so! four looks, all fall-themed in style && color. i love this season both for the weather and the food, but most importantly.. for the fashion!

black and gray

unintentionally (i swear!), the hubs && i had on outfits that just looked like they went together. now we didn’t go full blown twinsies, but we used the same black ‘n’ gray… and of course, to me, that meant it was picture takin’ time!

allarik has also gone and gotten himself a mesh head, from the mesh project. it’s been a little while now and to be honest, i’m both in love with it && still getting used to it all at once. he’s always been a pretty thing (that’s why i married him 😛 ) and the face he’s sporting now is just as pretty, but i’m so used to his classic face that it’s still something i’ve gotta adjust to. he’s adjusted to me wearing my lelutka head pretty much 24/7 now, so i suppooooooose i can do the same for him.. especially since the head itself is so nice. just lookit those cheekbones!

i think we still look great together, matching outfit palettes or not. though perhaps i am a bit biased…

i finally was able to go visit c88 properly and browse around.. and since this month marks the event’s anniversary, there’s *even more* designers and items there to tempt me.

i came back with a pretty sizable haul o’ goodies, buuutttttt~ i have to say, my top pick out of the things i snagged was probably one of tres blah‘s items…

this skirt is life. one of my favorite tb releases *ever* was the sequin pencil skirt from last year. so much so that i blogged it twice(!). you can imagine my utter glee when i saw this floor-length version, packed with even more sparkle ‘n’ shine, and i knew it had be be mine.

and i know my pics don’t even begin to do it justice, but just look at how this skirt shines with materials..

hair fair!

hair fair is easily one of my *favorite* events of the year. not only does it benefit a wonderful cause, but it’s also haaaiiirrr.. and judging from my overflowing inventory folders of hair, i kinda like buying it.

this is just a small (very!! small) smattering of hair fair picks of mine. there are so many brands, styles, colors, accessories && freebies there to pick from that i had a hard time narrowing it down to just four, but i guarantee these will not be the only hair fair styles i am gonna rock this summer!

anyway 😀 onto the hair!

first up, we have exile. this long, layered style is so, so cute! i love the way it frames the face and sweeps back over the shoulders, and exile has the most fab selection of dip-dye color choices. i never know which unnatural hair color pack to grab because they’re all so nice~

next, little bones! nova really outdid herself for hair fair, and i looooveee her styles this year! this one, called pose, immediately made me think of windswept beachy hair, and it looks perfect with a swimsuit.

now, onto lelutka. *all* of their hairstyles were a definite yes for me, but this one in particular was my favorite. the beanie is delicate and dotted with tiny li’l flowers, and i thought it worked so well with a kind of boho-themed look. plus i am loving their new color packs! no more do i have to decide whether i’d like pastel unnatural hair or vibrant unnatural hair, they’re both in one!

lastly, we have another little bones style.. except this time, it’s sleek, straight, smooth and tucked behind the ear. this one could so easily go with a more formal look too, maybe with an elegant gown or high-waist slacks and killer heels, but i dressed it down with some shorts ‘n’ a tank top.. and i think it works both ways!
