modern princess..

My friends and I decided to partake in one of our picture challenges the other night!  For this one we all received a random Disney princess & had to bring them into our own current time.  Let’s see what they are up to..

With help from Meeko & Flit, Pocahontas does very well for herself as a freelance nature photographer.  There is nobody better at capturing the beauty of the earth & the creatures whom inhabit it.

Aurora takes time to have a picnic in the meadow with her furry little friends.  She reads them the haunting tale of when she was audited by the evil tax collector Ms. Maleficent, before she heads home to make dinner for her man Phillip.

Rapunzel has opened her very own hair salon called Let Down Your Hair.  She has made it her life’s mission to to make sure everyone has a nice styled do, at a very reasonable & realistic length.

i know a lot of people tend to feel some kinda way about valentine’s day.. too much pressure, too cheesy, too commercial, too this && too that. but *i* happen to think it’s a sweet, cute li’l holiday that reminds you to appreciate the people in your life that are important to you. to have an extra excuse to show how much you love them. not that it should be relegated to one day a year only, but to have another chance to be kind and considerate and lovely.

so the hubs && i spent the afternoon together, all fancied up. him in a new deadwool suit (that’s out @ monsieur chic – and i love a man in a good suit!) && me, in a sexy new pixicat dress that i grabbed at collabor88. we so rarely get dressed up like this that it made even a quiet afternoon feel special.. and it was nice to spend some time with him.

yeah, maybe it’s cheesy, but what’s so bad about love? whether it’s friends and family, or your partner.. a day that celebrates all those warm ‘n’ fuzzies can’t be that bad, especially when loving someone.. anyone.. feels so wonderful~

kitty galore

imagine my surprise, when browsing the latest round of collabor88.. and, among all the guns and sexy dresses and general badassery, i spot some cute li’l kitties with poses, from half deer && le poppycock..

do you think i hesitated for a second before snagging them? NOPE

not only are these kittens adorable, but they have an amusing name that make them fit the c88 theme.. *and* on top of it, the poses included with them are so fab! my two little fluffy friends are the epitome of cuteness!!

so, of course, i had to dress cute too.. can’t let my cats upstage me! i put on a tee*fy jumper (that was out during the last round of kustom9) in a soft baby pink, a *new* pair of thigh-high socks from blueberry that were in the most perfect pastel rainbow, and a cotton-candy hair from exile that i snagged this past fifty linden friday.

“no one will get their hands on our treasure..”  that’s what captain vivienne and first mate vixxie thought as this photo was taken to celebrate their great victory and glorious riches.

suppose they should have been paying more attention.  well, first mate vixxie had a feeling something was coming, she kept a watchful eye on the horizon while captain vivienne was oblivious to the world.  shortly after, their boat was eaten by a kraken and they were never heard from again.. as for the treasure, it lies at the bottom of the ocean waiting for the next brave adventurer to claim it.

sometimes, i wonder.. if the designers on the grid all get together and discuss in what ways can we make vixxie vultee go insane over our items? and then, someone invariably pipes up with i know, LETS PUT A CAT ON IT…

and they get me, like they get me *every* time.

so i’m a sucker for cat stuff, what can i say. i think my favorite grab from the most current round of collabor88 was this kitty face sleeveless top from tres blah. white cats are always welcome in my slife && this shirt was the epitome of cuteness.

i did do other shopping at c88, though.. like picking up this *adorable* short skirt from pixicat, this haaaaair from little bones that is just so soft ‘n’ pretty, and this star-shaped bag from zenith that is so very magical girl.

plus *this skin* from glam affair is aaaaallll kinds of gorgeous! her name is sasha && she’s out @ kustom9.. i love the makeup choices and the details on the face (the shadowy under-eye bags are a nice touch in sl, even if not so much irl!), so pretty. makes my own face feel just as cute as the cat version on my chest!
